My dream has always been to be the person I know I can be.
Yes, there's fame and fortune as a singer or writer,
but that's not the only side of me.
The true me was someone who cared about other people,
but was hated.
No one cared that my feelings and my power to stand out already faded.
But that's not who I am anymore.
Not locked up tight in my own little shell as I was before.
Now, I live for tomorrow and believe in myself and what I can do.
I look to happiness, laughter, joy, and hope to pull me through.
Everything I've faced,
time can never erase,
how I was scarred emotionally.
Now I look to the rainbow after the rain,
and forget how I so longingly,
wanted to be someone I'd never be.
Now I accept myself for who I am inside,
and I block out anything that pulls me away,
from every good feeling I find with each new day.
The true me turns away from negativity...
Can I keep this new found glory?
